I am a computational social scientist focused on using data science tools to uncover patterns, understand complex problems, and forecast risk. I am trained in a wide range of quantiative methods, including statistics, causal inference, machine learning, and game theory. You can find some of my work under the "Research" tab and on GitHub.

I am currently working on several research projects broadly focused on security and risk: building predictive models of civil war interventions, examining the relationship between cyber operations and international crises, and defining a regional approach to cyber security and threats. I am also working with several scholars to establish a Scandinavian cyber security research consortium that brings together academia, government, and industry.

My professional experience includes teaching data science, mentoring aspiring researchers, and managing research. I also have years of policy research experience, which includes domestic and international projects, interacting with subject matter experts across public and private sector, and communicating findings to stakeholders. I am also affiliated with the Clements Center for National Security as a National Security Fellow, and I was recently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Government at the University of Texas at Austin. My academic research focuses on international security, civil wars, and cyber security. I received my PhD from UT Austin in 2021, and in my dissertation I combine formal theory, archival work, and statistical modeling to explain why and when civil wars become interstate wars.

I have previously been a research assistant at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law and a junior research fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).
